I am a Milan based film composer, songwriter and music producer.
Quality, creativity and diversity.
With a jazz background, advanced skills in electronic production and a strong passion for ear-catching melodies, my compositions and productions are very diverse: they range from piano solo to ambient soundscapes, from pop music to EDM.
Officine Meccaniche
Recording Studio
During this time at Officine Meccaniche I’ve had the opportunity to learn from the very best a number of skills that are fundamental in the field: how to approach the composition of a theme for a movie, how to record a 50 elements orchestra, how to arrange a choir part for a pop hit, how to properly wind up XLR cables etc.
I found that the best and fastest way to grow as a musician is to observe everything that happens in a studio and, when the time is right, politely ask questions to the seasoned professionals that come by: most of them will usually be happy to talk about instrumentation, technique or musical philosophy.
In the past few years I’ve had the opportunity and privilege to work in one of the most important recording studios in Italy, both as studio assistant in third party productions and session musician for the studio owner Mauro Pagani in his personal works.
My collaboration with Giuseppe Salvadori
Giuseppe Salvadori is the resident sound engineer at Officine Meccaniche and has been working there for about 20 years. Other than him teaching me a lot about the work in a big studio (most importantly HOW TO PROPERLY WIND UP CABLES) our professional relationship grew into a real artistic collaboration, as we started working on personal projects outside O.M. recording studios.
Take a Listen!
This piece is a short instrumental in the style of composer Gustavo Santaolalla (one of my all time favorites). It features lots of string instruments (all played and recorded, no sample flipping here!), a cinematic and mellow piano theme and a set of minimalistic percussion elements to provide depth end the right amount of drive to the composition.
